DESE requires all Juniors to take the ACT; students who are absent on April 19 will test on May 3, 2016. Varsity Basketball Practice:  Girls 3:30-5:00 Boys 5:00-6:30
Scholarship Night 4-7 pm for Seniors:  This is a time to work on scholarships and college applications with Mrs. Cokerham.  Seniors are welcome to come & go as they need during this time.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2016:
Livestock Judging and Grading Clinic will be held on March 5th.   Registration is due today.
Adam Wolf will be here from 9:51-10:36 am to meet with the sophomores to discuss all the programs available for them at GRTS.  The sophomore visit to GRTS will be on Tuesday, February 23.  We will leave school around 11:45 am and return prior to Ac Lab.  In the case of inclement weather on 2/23, the makeup date is 2/25.  Thanks!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congratulations to the Lifesmarts team, Mackenzie, Raelee, Wayne, Johnathan, and Caylie! This group placed first in the state of MO earning a spot to compete live in Jefferson City for the Dept of Education and to represent MO at the national Lifesmarts competition in Denver, CO. In addition, their score also placed them in the top 10 teams nationally, earning them a spot at FCCLA Lifesmarts Nationals in San Diego, CA. Proud to have you representing Meadville and the State of Missouri!

Congratulations to the following FCCLA members who competed at Region III STAR events!! The following members received top gold for their presentations and advance to state competition: Wayne in Job Interview, Autumn and Jullian in Focus on Children, McKenna and Kylee in Chapter ServiceProject Portfolio, Hunter and Aiden in Chapter Service Project Display, Emily and  Krysta in Interpersonal Communications. Receiving high silver were Kasey in Career Investigation and Dillon and Tanner in  Leadership in Action. Congratulations and a great job to all!

The ag construction class has several wooden dog houses for sale that we have built.  Prices range from $65-$150.  Stop by the ag building to take a look.  We also have an 8 ft.picnic table for sale for $135.

FYI:  We will observe President’s Day on Monday, February 15th.   NO SCHOOL!!!
Parents as Teachers Play Group Thursday, Feb 19th 5-6pm in the Kindergarten classroom. All children Birth to 5 years old are welcome to attend!

Seniors:  The Bill of Rights Institute essay contest is now open for any student willing to write up to an 800 word essay on "The founders believed in the sanctity/vital importance of the individual liberties guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.  To what extent (or in what ways) has our government compromised on these liberties in the name of security or the general welfare?  Go to www.billofrightsinstitute.org/engage/students-programs-events/scholarhsip to submit an essay prior to February 7, 2016

Sophomores:  Win a trip to Jefferson City, July 20-22, 2016 to learn more about government & leadership!  Write an essay is response to the following question and submit it to Farmers' Electric prior to February 19, 2016.  This year's essay question is "Co-ops are powered with passion.  For example, early founders demonstrated passion when they spent their free time walking farmstead to farmstead, convincing rural families to spend $5 and create electric cooperatives.  Their passion led to what President Franklin D. Roosevelt called one of the greatest advancements in quality of life for rural America.  What is your passion?"

Juniors and Seniors interested in a career in law enforcement:  The Missouri State Highway Patrol Student Alliance Program will take place from 9:30 am-4 pm on March 19 & 26 in Macon, MO.  Interested students can pick up an application from Mrs. Cokerham.  Applications are due February 25, 2016.  

Juniors:  GRM Networks is looking for two juniors to sponsor on a trip to Washington, D.C. June 4-8, 2016.  Applications are available at www.grm.net/youthtour and are due March 11, 2016.

Kate's Kountry Kookin' will be donating 10% of her Meadville sales on Tuesdays to the Meadville PTO, in order to help fund elementary field trips and assembly's.

Wheeling Happy Harvesters 4-H will meet on Monday, February 8th at 7:00pm at the Wheeling Christian Church.
